Real-world learning, real-world results.

Launching August 2024, WIC12 is a year-long, bilingual pre-university program that prepares students for success in university in Quebec, across Canada or internationally.

WHY WIC12?

We don’t just teach – we empower students to realize their vision of their future selves.

Using the globally-recognized Grade 12 curriculum supplemented by several Advanced Placement (AP) courses, students can apply the concepts they are learning to real-life scenarios through interdisciplinary projects, practical skills development, and collaborating with professionals in their fields of interest.

The WIC12 Difference

IGNITING CURIOSITY

Students who have a clearer idea of the path they wish to pursue in higher education will appreciate the more direct path to university that a Pre-U program provides. The balance of autonomy and in-person instruction offered at WIC12 helps students prepare for the demands of higher education.

Students are given opportunities to excel and lead with purpose in three pathways:

  1. Science/engineering
  2. Business/commerce
  3. Social science/liberal arts

A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO LEARNING & PERSONAL SUCCESS

WIC12 takes a holistic approach to learning and personal success. To deepen students’ academic and experiential learning, WIC12 offers extra-curricular programming in the performing arts, sports/fitness, and cultural activities to complement the core courses in their chosen pathway and to provide students with an enriching educational experience.

These extra-curricular activities help students to foster relationships, develop leadership skills, and explore their interests inside and outside the classroom.

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES,
REALIZING POTENTIAL

WIC12 emphasizes experiential learning in the form of internships, research projects, service learning projects, community-based initiatives, class outings, outdoor education trips, and optional international excursions to complement high-quality academic programming. These hands-on learning opportunities and real-world applications also focus on leadership development, allowing students to cultivate their leadership skills through mentorship, team-building activities, and leadership training.

WIC12’s teachers and counsellors can offer valuable advice and support during the college application process, helping students make well-informed choices about their academic and career paths.

BUILDING A BRIDGE TO THE FUTURE

WIC12 prepares students for university in Quebec and beyond by providing resources and guidance on university applications, standardized testing, financial aid and scholarships, and facilitated university campus tours in the autumn term (Sept-Oct-Nov).

The Pre-U program offers personalized experiences, such as project-based learning and mentoring, to meet each student’s individual needs and interests and help them make the right choices for their future academic and professional goals.

Student Life

CAREER EXPLORATION

Paving the way to your future

Through dynamic partnerships with WIC Alumni and community professionals, mentorship becomes a cornerstone of our approach. Students benefit from firsthand insights during visits to local businesses, gaining a tangible understanding of their chosen career fields. At WIC12, we believe in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

INTERNSHIPS

Bridging classroom knowledge and real-world experience

As part of our program, students engage in enriching internships tailored to their interests. By matching students with companies aligned with their passions, we ensure they gain practical work experience. These internships not only enhance academic learning but also open doors to potential future employment opportunities, setting our students on a trajectory for success.

SERVICE LEARNING

Shaping responsible and compassionate citizens

Through partnerships with local charitable organizations, students actively contribute to community service initiatives, making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We are committed to nurturing socially conscious individuals who understand the power of collective action.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR

Adventures and athletic pursuits

Our ECAs foster relationships, build work ethic, encourage leadership, instill perseverance, promote collaboration, and nurture creative talents. With a focus on achieving a healthy school/life balance, we emphasize physical activity and mental awareness through interscholastic sports and the arts.

EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION

Beyond the classroom

Experiential education incorporates outdoor education trips designed to push students outside their comfort zones. Travel experiences at WIC12 are curated to provide students with opportunities for exploration, cultural immersion, language practice, historical understanding, community engagement, and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
